Walewale MP supports 100 dry-season farmers with water pumping machines

Member of Parliament for Walewale, Hon. Tia Kabiru Mahama, has presented 100 water pumping machines to dry-season farmers in the constituency. The support forms part of his Agriculture Support Initiative aimed at boosting vegetable production and improving livelihoods.

At the presentation ceremony, Hon. Kabiru encouraged the farmers to put the machines to good use and service them regularly to prolong their lifespan.

“We want our farmers to expand their farms and produce more vegetables during the dry season. That is why we are supporting them with these pumps. But it is important they take good care of the machines so that they can last for years,” Hon. Kabiru said.

The beneficiaries, who are mainly vegetable farmers, were selected from communities where irrigation farming is common. To ensure sustainability, each farmer made a counterpart contribution towards the acquisition of the machines.

Hon. Kabiru indicated that his office will monitor the initiative closely and extend it to cover more farmers in the constituency in subsequent phases.

He reaffirmed his commitment to prioritising the welfare of his constituents through sustainable agricultural interventions.
